    "Hirosaki Vege Festa" will be held for the first time on December 2nd at the Izumino Multipurpose Community Facility (Izumino, Hirosaki City).

    The event organized by Takano Nakamura, who presides over the cooking class "pomme kitchen". It was an idea that he had been thinking for a long time to make people widely aware of meat-free vegetarian dishes. According to Mr. Nakamura, he recalled that he was inspired by the idea of "Okara konjac", a vegetable cooking researcher, Tetsuko Okada's cooking class.

    “Vegetarian food has the image of eating raw vegetables and beans as it is, but I want to tell you that this is not the case,” says Nakamura. "Around September of this year, Professor Okada told me, "I should have a veggie event in Hirosaki," and I started groping for it. Finally, with the cooperation of everyone, it will take shape."

    At the venue, 12 restaurants outside Hirosaki city will provide vegetable dishes, as well as experience booths for selling naturally cultivated vegetables and fruits, aromatherapy, manipulative treatment, and caricatures. "One coin vegetarian cooking" takes about 30 minutes and makes a slice of okara konjac. Up to 10 people both at 11:30 and 13:00. Participation accepts reservations only on the day.

    Nakamura says, “Aomori is a short-lived prefecture, and it is said that one of the causes is food. We want to make it an event where people can easily enjoy healthy and vegetarian dishes made entirely of vegetables.”
