Hirosaki Taxi Company “Hokusei Kotsu” (Shigemori Shinmachi, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-32-0272) “Local Taxi Summit” was held on August 21 at the head office building.

The Japan Local Taxi Association was established in July of this year by nine nationwide operators of sightseeing taxis. The Summit was the first meeting since the establishment of the association and discussed the information exchange among businesses and the method of operating the association.

Taiji Kusunoki, president of the association, said, “We established the association because we wanted people to use sightseeing taxis casually. In the future, we will continue to increase the number of local taxis throughout the country and also hold summits regularly. And I want to make it possible for local taxis to come together."

Yasuhiro Shimoyama, Hokusei Kotsu, who provides a local taxi "Apple Pie Concierge" in Hirosaki, said, "I am honored to be able to hold it for the first time in Hirosaki. I would like to hear the opinions of other areas and try to improve the service."
