    On August 19th, "#No school refusal is not unfortunate" was held at Hiroro, a commercial complex in Hirosaki (Ekimae-cho, Hirosaki City).

In the first half of the event, Kazuki Obata, the founder of the event, which was held in 100 locations throughout Japan in the first half, performed live broadcasts from Wakayama and shared experiences, and in the second half, participants could interact with each other.     Ms. Mikako Saito, sponsored by Hirosaki, said, ``I was isolated when I began school refusal 30 years ago, but later I met other children at free school and I can affirm my way of living without going to school. Hirosaki didn't have a free school or parent association yet, so I wanted to create a horizontal connection between the parties and their parents."

    A total of over 40 people gathered at the venue. Mr. Saito said, "It will be a big event all over the country, with Kyoji Ogasawara participating from the Hirosaki City Board of Education, and that there are approximately 120 children and students who are not attending school and children who are not attending school.
