On April 14th, a mystery-solving event "The Big Secret of a Small Garden" will be held at "Moribien", a national scenic spot in Aomori/Hirakawa (Saruga, Hirakawa City).

A hands-on puzzle-solving game planned and supervised by "Takarash!" (Koto-ku, Tokyo), who has worked on treasure hunting events. Participants carry "participation kits" with codes and mysteries written, and go around the garden in search of the "last keyword" on the stage of Moribien, which is about 3,600 tsubo.

Moribien is a Japanese-Western eclectic Western style building built in 1908 (Meiji 41) with different styles on the first and second floors. The garden is the "Bakugaku-ryu," which was counted as one of the three most famous gardens in the Meiji era, and the format is "Ikensenkaresan-mizusuikyu". It has also been used as a stage model for the Studio Ghibli movie "The Borrower Arrietty" released in 2010.

At the same event, a letter was sent from an unknown sender to visit a designated place in Moribien and meet the "request" of the sender.

Participants from the Hirakawa City Tourism Association, which sponsors the event, participated in the test session held on March 19. The 20-year-old man and woman pair who participated showed a smile, "I had never come to Moribien and I was able to go around the garden while solving the mystery and the joy of understanding the mystery one by one."

Kenji Tatashifushi, a member of the Hirakawa City Local Development Cooperation Team, who mediated the event, said, “I tried to make it so difficult that adults can really enjoy it because of the knowledge of the upper grades of elementary school. If that happens," he says.

It will be held until mid-November. It will be held from 9:00 to 17:00 until the end of September and from 9:00 to 16:30 from October. Participation fee is 1,000 yen (separate entrance fee).
