A barber shop "the countryside BARBER GREAT MONKEY" (Hirosaki City Garden, TEL 080-3191-9969) opened near Hirosaki City General Learning Center on March 9.

The store mainly finishes barber styles, which are mainly for trimming classical hairstyles and fade cuts. “The barber style has been drawing a lot of attention in recent years, but it was opened in order to keep it rooted in Hirosaki, not a temporary boom,” said Juri Sugo, the owner.

Mr. Sugo is from Goshogawara. I started thinking about independence from my thirties while working at a barber shop in Hirosaki. Mr. Sugo said that the boost from the surroundings was a big reason. “In order to meet the demands of our customers, we are almost self-taught in technology. There was no place to learn in Hirosaki, so we studied by looking at YouTube, etc.”

The store name means "great monkey in the countryside." "Monkey" is a nickname of Mr. Sugo, and he is proud to grow up in the country. The interior of the store is decorated in black and white with a retro feel, and tools are ordered from overseas. “Overseas hair clippers are good for finishing gradations,” says Sugo.

The menu is cut (2,160 yen), cut and shave (2,700 yen). It corresponds to the student discount.

Mr. Sugo plans to hold events regularly to spread the barber culture. A Tsugaru barber meeting will be held at 18:00 on March 26th. The purpose is to practice fade-cutting and barber-friendly exchanges, but the general public can also participate. Free to join.

Mr. Sugo said, "The barber style has the greatest appeal of being able to express its masculinity. I want to convey the charm of the barber style to many people in Aomori where I have few opportunities to touch it."
