The Hirosaki Sakura Festival opened on April 22 at Hirosaki Park (Shiragin-cho, Hirosaki City).

On the same day, which was the first day, it rained lightly in the morning, but it was fine enough to see the blue sky around 10 o'clock. The temperature was about 4 degrees below normal, and some of the flower-viewers walking in the park showed some cold.

At the opening ceremony held at Hirosaki Castle Honmaru, Noriyuki Kasai declared Mayor Kasai Hirosaki to celebrate the 100th year of the Hirosaki Sakura Festival, which began with the cherry blossom viewing party. We held an annual balloon release with guests and kindergarten children who participated in front of a large Neputa that was brought to Honmaru for the first time.

Hirosaki City Park and Greenery Division announced that the current condition of flowering is that the garden (standard tree) will bloom for 3 minutes, the outer moat will bloom for 5 minutes, and the tunnel of cherry blossoms will begin to bloom. The full bloom days were expected to be 25th, 24th and 26th respectively.

Hirosaki Sakura Festival is until May 7th.
