On February 3rd, in Hirosaki City, the projection mapping video of the "Hirosaki Castle Snow Lantern Festival" was shown to only those involved.

Known as a winter special event, this event is the 41st time this year, with snow lanterns, snow statues and mini kamakura with candles lined up in Hirosaki Park.

The projection mapping project was started in 2012 by the citizen group "Paya Paya Bora Tori" (hereinafter "Paya Rabo"), which produces works that are projected on snow images every year.

This year, the content will be a collaboration with the anime "Flying Witch". The anime set in Hirosaki is based on the manga of the same name drawn by manga artist Chihiro Ishizuka, and many buildings and streetscapes of Hirosaki appear in the play. This time, the Western-style building of the Fujita Memorial Garden, whose projection has been decided, is also depicted in the play as a cafe with haunted maids.

In addition to the people involved, Mr. Ishizuka also participated in the preview held on this day. The video used for projection mapping is about 7 minutes long and is divided into the first half and the second half. The first half is a video on the theme of cherry blossoms and Tsugaru, centered around the city's Yuru character Takamaru. In the latter half, the characters who appeared in the anime will appear in 3D, and an interactive device will be prepared.

After finishing watching the video, Mr. Ishizuka smiled, "This is the first time that my work is projection mapping, and I myself see projection mapping for the first time. What is my first work?" Regarding projection mapping, he says, "It's a nice image. I want to quickly see the image projected on a snow image with a width of 9 meters and a height of 7 meters."

Kayasu Kasai of Payarabo calls out, "I'm relieved that the original authors saw it. I will do the final finishing. I hope many people will see it."

Projection mapping is February 9-12. The screening time is from 18:00 to 20:30. Show every 30 minutes (11:30 is not shown at 19:30). free entrance.
