The "Okutsu Light Bug and Fire Festival" was held on June 21 in Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, and the audience was excited.

The festival is a traditional event in the Tsugaru region that protects against pests and prays for a good harvest. The celebration after the rice planting is the origin of the event. In the city, a custom of protecting insects from insects called "Mushi-Feed" is held every year on the third Saturday of June every year.

According to the Goshogawara Junior Chamber, which is hosted by the Goshogawara Junior Chamber, "insect feeding" is not to kill insects that have strayed into the human world, but to send them back to the world where they live. The Fire Festival is a ritual that cleanses the invisible bad things and the mind.

At the festival, two dragon-shaped floats that imitate "insects" that are close to 10 meters in height have appeared. A torch, about 3 meters in size, was ignited, and the participating groups walked around the city center. At the Iwakigawa riverbed at the main venue, performances of Hayashi and traditional dance are performed. At the highlight of "Kawahara Shinji / Insect Ascension," the torches that had been carried were burned at the fireplace, and the dragon-shaped insects installed at the back of the venue were burned.

"Insect feeding in the Tsugaru district" is designated as an intangible folk cultural property, and there are few areas in the prefecture.
