On October 13th, the event "DAMA PARK in HIROSAKI" was held at the Hirosaki City Machinaka Information Center (Hirosaki City, Dote Town).

The event was organized by a volunteer who loves kendama, with the desire to spread the fun of kendama to many people. Even children and inexperienced people can participate, and this is the eighth time. Last time 40 people participated. From this time, it was held at the Hirosaki City Machinaka Information Center.

Among the founders are Dai Kudo, who has been selected as the highest award in the 40s division of the “Kendama World Cup 2018”, and Junya Kato, who started Kendama last year. Mr. Kato said, “I got my kendama from a colleague at the company. I became absorbed in it and started to set up an organization called“ Panormal Kendama Club ”and wanted to focus on popularizing kendama.”

Regarding the charm of kendama, Mr. Kato said, "Kendama has a variety of techniques, and even techniques that you couldn't do immediately have fun and excitement when you succeed by repeating the challenge."

At the venue, we will also accept the Japan Kendama Association Grade Certification and the GLOKEN Kendama Examination, and we will also lend you Kendama so that you can enjoy it by hand. We will also display and sell kendamas made by kokeshi crafters that weigh more than 3 kilometers.

A pair of parent and child participants smiled, "Since the beginning of kendama, adults have become more enthusiastic than children. Since kendama can be used anywhere, it can be practiced even during housework."

Currently, Mr. Kudo and others are on a business trip to convey the fun of Kendama to club activities at school nursery schools and elementary schools. “There aren't many places in Hirosaki where you can play kendama with a large number of people. I would like to go to any place where I can spread the word,” says Kudo.

The next event is scheduled for November 9th at the Hirosaki City Machinaka Information Center.
