On December 17th, a mini 4WD event "Nokonoko Racing Christmas Sonic 2016" was held on the 3rd floor of Hiroro, a commercial complex in front of Hirosaki Station (Ekimae-cho, Hirosaki City).

The event was held in three parts: a race tournament that adopted Tamiya's official rules, a Condele section that remodels Tamiya's Mini 4WD and competes for appearance, and a Comical Mini 4WD section that uses Comical Mini 4WD. Sponsored by "Nokonoko Racing", an voluntary organization that holds mini 4WD events in Aomori Prefecture. This is the third large-scale event to be crowned with "Sonic."

In the race competition, 190m rail is used for qualifying, 390m rail is used for revival of losers, and 430m rail is used for the final race. It is said that there have been no cases in recent years of holding the Mini 4WD competition on the same scale in the Tsugaru area. There were more than 100 entries, and there were many passers-by who stopped and watched at the special venue.

The entry name "Sato" from Goshogawara won the race event. "I participated in the previous tournament, but I couldn't get any results. I finally got a revenge," he says with satisfaction. He also won the Condelle category and achieved two crowns.

Mr. Hiro Ichinohe, the sponsor of Nokonoko Racing, said, “There are permanent mini 4WD courses in Aomori City and Hachinohe City but not in the Tsugaru area. It is possible because the participation rate of children is higher than in the past two competitions. There is a certain area. If the parents and children have a common hobby and children's awareness of craftsmanship is improved, it will be possible for future engineers to be born from Aomori."
