On September 7, 20 or more "mystery circles" of large and small size occurred on the premises of Aomori Museum of Art (Yasuda, Aomori City).

The "mystery circle", in which multiple circles are drawn, is 10 meters or more in diameter when it is large. I drew a mowing team of Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art health and safety support staff. The corps is currently a volunteer group of about 40 people, "Yukio Kasai, the vice-chairman of the corps, who says, "They are all the retired people and OBs of prefectural staff. Kasai-san also retired from the company and was invited by the corps to be known by a friend that his hobbies were taking care of the mountains and gardens.

The main task of the squad was to mow the garden on the premises, but "I felt unsatisfactory when weeding alone, so I wanted to do something from a few years ago," Kasai said. “When I was practicing a circle in order to draw the Olympics in time with the Rio Olympics, I was asked to cooperate with the PR of the exhibition,” he recalls.

“We are currently exhibiting contemporary art works from around the world on the theme of “Root and Road” in the 10th anniversary commemorative project of the museum. There are works such as spiral patterns and ripples. I asked him if I could imitate the crop circle, and he agreed with me."

Kasai et al. used a lawn mower to draw a circle with a large diameter gradually from the center of the circle to create a "crop circle." Kasai-san, who saw the completed circle, smiled, "Drawing a circle seems to be easy and surprisingly difficult. I was able to do more than I could imagine."

"I want to make something next year as well as this," says Kasai. Mr. Okuwaki said, "I hope you can come to the museum with the crop circle and visit the ongoing exhibitions."

Opening hours are from 9am to 6pm. "Aomori EARTH 2016 Root & Road" is until September 25th.
