On August 1, the first day of the Hirosaki Neputa Festival, two voice actors from the TV animation "Flying Witch" participated in the Neputa cruise.

"Flying Witch" is a daily animation that depicts high school girl witches set in Hirosaki. The original manga of the same name serialized in "Separate Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) is written by Chihiro Ishizuka, the author while living in Hirosaki.

Participating in Hirosaki Neputa was Minami Shinoda, who played the main character, Makoto Kohata, and Shiori Mikami, the main character's classmate, who also played the role of Ishiwata. Mr. Shinoda is from Chiba prefecture and this is the first time to see Hirosaki Neputa. “I only experienced festivals like Bon Odori in my area, so I was impressed by the enthusiasm of Hirosaki Neputa,” he said.

Mr. Mikami is from Aomori Prefecture, but this is the first time he has participated in Hirosaki Neputa. "It is an honor to be able to participate in Hirosaki Neputa in this way because of the work," says Mikami. The spectators who called out "Whitcha, Whitcha" during the cruise show a smile as they were impressed.

After the tour, he said that he had launched with several staff members, mainly director of the anime, Katsushi Sakurami, who was visiting Hirosaki.
