Hirosaki's computer school "Soft Campus Hirosaki School" (Tote Town, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-33-9565) held a "robot programming" course for local elementary and junior high school students on June 11.

This course prepares a total of 10 courses such as moving toy robots using electronic crafts and elementary programs.

Participating children experience the "electronic craft course" and "game program course" on the day. After learning the mechanism of electric lights in the "electronic craft course", we actually made the LED light device, and in the "game programming course", we moved the illustrations on the computer and experienced programming.

One of the three-year-old boys who participated was smiling, saying, "I participated because I wanted to make a game myself. It was fun, so I want to study hard so that I can do it by myself."

Ai Sugimoto, a staff member of the Soft Campus Hirosaki School, said, "Game programmers are ranked high in the profession that children want to be, but there are few places in Tohoku where you can learn programming. Creating a place to learn programming and an opportunity to touch , I planned this course because I wanted to develop programmers who can play an active part in Hirosaki in the future. I hope that the children who have learned will have more choices when choosing jobs in the future."

The next course will be June 25th. Holding time is from 10:00. Participation fee = 1,080 yen (material cost). Maximum 8 people. Apply to the school (TEL 0120-334-852).
