On May 25th, the "Open Microphone" event was held at Hirosaki's pub "Robbin's Nest" (Omachi, Hirosaki City).

This is an event where people who want to show their musical instruments and performances by opening the stage can freely jump in and participate. It is held all over the world, but there are few stores in Hirosaki that offer open microphones.

The manager of the store, Shoichi Narita, met the "open microphone" event at an overseas destination and thought that it would be interesting if there was a place where he could play freely even in the local area.

On the day, 16 groups of artists from outside the city participated. A female customer in her thirties said, “I came to support a friend on stage, but it was fresh and fun because I could listen to music in a genre that I wouldn't normally listen to.”

Sakiko Nakamura, a pianist who participated in the open microphone, performed tango music. “I was nervous on a stage with a different atmosphere than usual, but it was an opportunity for many people to learn about tango. I want to stand on this stage again,” he says with a smile.

“I want to continue to create a venue for music and hobbies. I want people who want to perform on stage and those who want to see presentations to come casually,” says Narita. The event is scheduled to be held once every three months. The next event will be held on August 24th.
