The calligraphy exhibition "Sakura-style calligraphy classroom work exhibition", which was talked about last year as "too free", is being held this year in the underground gallery York Gallery of the Ito-Yokado Hirosaki store (in front of Hirosaki station).

This is the sixth exhibition held by Sakurafuze Miura of the Sakurafuu branch of the Japan Education Calligraphy Association. Last year's themes were "Sake," "a favorite celebrity," and "Shuzo Matsuoka's daily calendar."

This year's theme is "Samurai's famous sword", "My favorite sumo wrestler", "Deep sea creatures", "Classical masterpiece", "Great man's quote", and more. Will also be displayed.

At the venue, characters such as "Bone-eating Toshiro", "Mamoru Izumi Kanesada", "Michiyuki Mutsu" are lined up. “I showed the Japanese sword book to the children and let them choose the kanji they wanted to write,” says Miura. The other works also gave children different themes and let them choose their favorite words.

The exhibition started with a promise to the children, "I'll do it when the number of people in the classroom reaches 10 or more." "I want children to enjoy calligraphy regardless of how good they are," says Miura.

"By diversifying themes, it is possible to write various characters such as kanji, katakana, and hiragana. I give wide practical guidance to write on things other than half-paper. I wrote a person from history. Some of the children started to take an interest in history from calligraphy," he said with a smile.

"I would be happy if you could see the work and see a little reaction. Please come visit and see the children's work," he invites you to visit.

Holding time is from 9:00 to 21:00. Until April 3rd.
