``Junkdo Bookstore Hirosaki Nakasan Store'' (Dotemachi, Hirosaki City) will close on April 30th.

The store opened in May 2012 (Heisei 24). When it first opened, the store occupied the 6th and 7th floors, making it the largest bookstore in Aomori Prefecture. In May 2018, the sales floor was consolidated on the 6th floor. We have also put effort into planning autograph sessions with local artists and others.

Along with the store's closure, the stationery store "MARUZEN" on the same floor will also close. In addition to holding a "Thank You Sale" from January 20th, we are also planning other thank you projects.

In Dote-cho, the central city of Hirosaki, Kinokuniya Bookstore Hirosaki store closed in May 2019 (Heisei 31), and was replaced by Imaizumi main store in 2000 (Heisei 12). As bookstores are disappearing one after another, many locals express their regret. A man in his 50s who lives in Hirosaki said, ``It had a lot of specialized books and was very useful.I wish they would have kept it, even if it was small.''
