On December 28th, Switch Yamada, a columnist and illustrator who lives in Hirakawa, Aomori, published a collection of essays, ``Batcha and Parenting.''

This book contains 58 essays out of 300 that were not included in the book ``Yamada Switch's THE Aomori Life,'' which was serialized in the Aomori Prefecture edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun from April 2007 to March 2023. The story revolves around Yamada raising two sons with her grandmother-in-law, Baccha.

Mr. Yamada moved to Tokyo after graduating from a university in Hirosaki, and has experience working as a comedian while working as a chef. In 2002, they made a U-turn to Hirosaki and got married. The following year, he published his first book, ``Happiness Switch,'' and has published 10 books to date.

According to Yamada, Ono Printing Co., Ltd. (Tomita-cho, Hirosaki City) cooperated in the publication. ``Although I was able to obtain an ISBN number, I was worried about how to turn it into a book, so I couldn't release it.'' My encounter with Ono Printing really helped me,'' says Yamada. ``2023 will be my 20th year as a columnist.I wanted to publish it within last year.''

Batcha started helping raise children at the age of 77 and is now 95 years old. According to Yamada, he hopes it will be an opportunity to learn new perspectives on how to deal with the elderly and how to interact with them, given his unconventional personality and behavior that goes beyond imagination. Mr. Yamada said, ``Having experienced comedy and being a chef, I think I understand how difficult it is, but raising a child is even more difficult.Because I wrote this in such a context, it became the most interesting content of any book I've ever written.'' he said with a smile.

Total 160 pages. The price is 1,000 yen. It will be sold at bookstores in Aomori Prefecture and online.
