On March 14, the Aomori West Coast Ninomachi Tourism Liaison Council created a pamphlet for National Route 101 Soft-serve Ice Cream Road.

This pamphlet introduces all 13 types of soft-serve ice cream, set on National Highway No. 101, which is about 100 km long and runs through Ajigasawa Town and Fukaura Town along the coast of Japan in Aomori Prefecture and Happo Town in Akita Prefecture. Mr. Masakazu Iijima, a member of the Ajigasawa Town Tourism Association and Fukaura Town Tourism Association, said, "We often think that tourists travel by car on national roads, which we thought of as a means of attracting visitors."

In the pamphlet, "Aoike Soft", which is an image of a popular sightseeing spot "Aoike" in the Shirakami Mountains, a world natural heritage site, "Ikasumi Soft Cream" from Ajigasawa, famous for its squid curtains, and "Fuka", which incorporates snow carrots from Fukaura Introducing unique "local soft serve ice cream" such as "Ura Yuki Ginseng Soft" and "Chiso Soft" which is used as a stratum using miso and sea salt from Happo.

Mr. Iijima said, “I started thinking about the concept a little over a year ago, and when I started the survey, I was suddenly aware that many tourists were moving while soft serve ice cream, and I was feeling the response. Many stores open throughout the year. However, there are some stores that open from spring, so I hope you can enjoy the ice cream while enjoying the scenery of the west coast of Aomori this summer."

Brochures will be installed at the stores and tourist facilities.
