On February 6th, Japan's first snow art will be unveiled at the second rice field art venue (Takahagi, Inakadate Village) in Inakadate Village, Aomori Prefecture.

The only snow artist in the world, British Simon Beck, is the first snow art challenge in Japan. Simon has completed more than 200 works in seven countries around the world, such as France and Switzerland, which draws geometric patterns with snowshoeed footsteps on unexplored snow fields.

The second rice field art venue, which will be the venue, is about 140 meters long and 70 meters wide (1.5 times the size of a soccer field). Rice field art such as "Star Wars: Awakening of the Force" last summer and "Sazae-san" and "Mazinger Z" have been drawn in the past.

It was said that Simon-san happened to find on the Internet the Prefectural Citizens' Bureau of the Prefectural Central and South Region, who was considering a project that utilized snow as a winter tourism resource. Since the rice field art venue is not used in the winter, I proposed to Simon-san for a project and agreed. I visited Japan once a year to make a prototype. It was realized that there was no problem with snow quality or the environment.

Snow art is often made in the mountains, so it is rarely seen by the general public. At the same venue, there is a 14-meter-high observatory for viewing rice field art, which you can easily see, and says, "We will light up at night on weekends. Snow art will be light up for the first time in the world." The person in charge of the village can put his power into it.

Mr. Simon completed the snow art from 9 o'clock on the 5th and was completed around 18:00. Since I don't eat lunch, the only energy supply during production is banana, cola and chocolate cookies. "I made them by putting them in my pocket and eating each one. Regarding the cola, it seems that I use the snow surface as a marker to check the distance," the person in charge said.

The viewing time is from 10:00 to 16:00. It will be lit up on the 6th and 7th and from 16:00 to 19:00 on 11th to 13th. Admission is 200 yen. Until the 14th of this month.
