A "town walk" event was held on May 17th and 18th to inform Hirosaki students of the charm of Hirosaki for new students. It was invented by the student group "Backstreet Detectives Z" belonging to Hirosaki's tourism volunteer group "Backstreets Detectives".

Mr. Shiori Hirano, a member of the group and a fourth-year student at the same university, said, “The new students don't know about Hirosaki, who has just started living in April,” and invented with him the “Machinaruki” event that conveys the charm of Hirosaki. He also went to Tomakomai from Hokkaido / Tomakomai, and recalled that at the time, he had no chance to know the charm of Hirosaki.

Hirosaki has a history as a castle town, and many old buildings remain in the main towns such as bank towns and blacksmith towns. The back alley detective team guides these streetscapes to tourists, but the "machiraki" that the back alley detective team Z thinks of starts like a student from the main gate of the university, and is centered around the school. The contents include information useful for the life of new students.

"The majority of university students from outside the prefecture graduate without realizing the attractiveness of Hirosaki. It is very nice to see such movements from the students," says Chikage Shikata, a representative of the back alley detective team. ..

For the future, he said, "I would like to expand not only for new students but also for current students and international students who have not yet noticed the charm of Hirosaki."
