"Head ornaments" such as animals centering on Moe are displayed on the "snow fishing" installed in Hirosaki Park (Shimohiragin-cho, Hirosaki City) this year.

For snow fishing, a pillar is erected near the trunk of the tree, and ropes are laid radially from the tip of the pillar to each branch to protect the tree from branch breaks caused by snow damage. This year again, 38 trees were snow-covered in the same garden, and various animal-shaped ornaments called "head ornaments" were attached to the tips of the trees.

Takaho Yamazaki of the Park and Greenery Division said, "(Headdress) may have started about 40 years ago." At that time, he made a simple headdress called "crown" on the main line, and said that it was inherited from generation to generation. Mr. Yamazaki said in 2010 that he knew that the Shimo-nashibashi's giboshi in the park used to be shaped like a fly, and suggested that he could make a headdress with a fly. “I wanted to enjoy the winter Hirosaki Park as much as possible,” he recalls.

Since then, each year, the staff members of the department, centering on Mr. Yamazaki, make various headdresses, centering around the picture of the year. "One snow fishing takes half a day, and the headdress uses ropes tied to the branches, so I will make it on the spot," says Yamazaki. There is no particular theme, and each one will decorate the items made by the staff. "The quality may vary," he says with a smile.

Keita Odagiri from the city, who was shooting a snowflake headdress, said, "I first noticed when I was walking through the park at a bird-watching event two years ago. He is very cute, and the design changes every year, so I'm always looking forward to walking. "

Mr. Yamazaki says he made three headdresses this year, "Even if you don't ask me, I have to tell you". "I'd like you to come to Hirosaki Park and look for it."
