On December 2, a "lover's bench" was set up in Yoshinocho Ryokuchi Park (Yoshinocho, Hirosaki City).

The brewery "Yoshii Sake Brick Warehouse" built in 1925 (Taisho 14) is a popular landmark for this park. The bench was installed near the white dog art object "A to Z Memorial Dog" created by contemporary artist Yoshitomo Nara from the city. The bench with a white heart-shaped backrest measures about 1.5 meters in width. Since the center of the seat is dented, it sits naturally when you sit down.

In October 2014, the city was selected as a "retro-modern city" centering on Yoshinocho Ryokuchi Park, and was selected as a "lover's sanctuary." The lover's sanctuary is a place selected by the NPO Regional Revitalization Support Center and is subject to "a romantic spot suitable for a proposal." Currently, 136 sacred sites have been certified nationwide, and only three in the prefecture.

A city official said, "We have been certified as a sacred place for lovers, but since there was nothing that could be a symbol, we formed the idea of using the bench-shaped bench and heart shape to do something."

"If you give a grand notice, it will be difficult for lovers to use it, so I installed it quietly. If the word of mouth spreads the reputation," he said. “Hirosaki will be in the snow season, so I would like to make something using snow,” he said.
