The Chinese restaurant "Kairyu" (3 Kanazawa, Aomori City, TEL 090-1900-7747 ) opened on May 22nd.

This restaurant was opened by Ryu Kudo, who has experience working at a Chinese restaurant chain nationwide. It offers Chinese classics such as ramen and fried rice, as well as a la carte dishes such as garlic chives and mapo tofu. The name of the restaurant is a combination of Mr. Kudo's name and the word "sea" that his wife Chiharu likes.

Mr. Kudo is from Goshogawara. After graduating from high school, he worked at "Gyoza no Osho" in Sendai and married Chiharu, who was a colleague from Miyagi. The couple returned to Aomori for about three years to help with the family business, but moved to Sendai again. While embracing the desire to have his own shop in Aomori someday, he worked as a manager at his former workplace.

“The decisive factor in moving here was that my wife said she wanted to raise her children in Aomori,” says Mr. Kudo. “I love Aomori because it has four distinct seasons. Towns other than Aomori also have their own charms and fun,” said Chiharu. He wanted to move there before his child entered elementary school, so he returned to Aomori in March 2023 and began preparations for opening.

The store area is about 20 tsubo, and the number of seats is 15. Opened a restaurant almost without the remains of the restaurant "Nakano Shokudo". “There are few properties with kitchen facilities, so the timing was good. I also get advice from the owner of Nakano Shokudo, such as where to buy ingredients, which is very helpful,” says Mr. Kudo.

The menu includes "fried rice (fried rice)" (715 yen), "Tianjin rice (sweet and sour/soy sauce)" (770 yen), "chive leek", "twice pot meat", "sweet and sour pork" (638 yen), "soy sauce ramen" ( 605 yen), "Tantanmen (soy sauce, miso)" (880 yen), "Bottle beer (medium)" (550 yen), etc.

Regarding the future, Mr. Kudo said, "Once my children get used to the environment, I would like to open at night and increase the number of gyoza and limited-time menus. I want to make it a restaurant called The Machi Chuka."

Business hours are from 11:00 to 15:00. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
