Yukihiro Sekiyama, who was a former trumpet player of the NHK Symphony Orchestra from Hirosaki City, will hold a triumphal concert at the Hirosaki Civic Hall (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki City) on November 21st.

This concert is held to commemorate the return of Hirosaki Sekiyama, who retired from the orchestra in June 2015. The eldest son, Takahiro Sekiyama, also participated as an oboe player, and they will perform together as a parent and child. This is the third parent-child co-starring in Hirosaki since 2013.

In addition, Mr. Sekiyama will also perform with Hirosaki Jongara Wind Orchestra, which is formed by musicians living in the city for this day only. The song "Jongara Rappa" in the program is an arrangement of Jongara-bushi, a traditional Tsugaru folk song, which was written by an acquaintance composer just for Mr. Sekiyama. Regarding this song, Mr. Sekiyama says, "I have been playing in various styles every time, but each time it raises my feelings for Tsugaru. This time I want to make it suitable for the triumphal return to Hirosaki."

Mr. Takahiro says, "The trumpet and oboe are not easy to mix, so the quality of the ensemble is questioned. I want to pay attention to the performance."

Doors open at 16:30 and start at 17:00. Adults = 2,000 yen, high school students and younger = 1,000 yen (preschoolers are not allowed to enter), all seats are free. For inquiries, please contact "Cafe Lemon" (TEL 0172-33-9359).
