    The "POP Contest" is currently being held at the Hirosaki University Library (Bunkyo-cho, Hirosaki City).

    This is the first time that the students of Hirosaki University will introduce their specialty books, essays, comics, etc. using pop ads.

    All 40 pop advertisements will be displayed in a special corner on the second floor of the same building. Some students applied for three works by themselves. General users can vote, and the grand prix winners will be announced and the award ceremony will be held at the same building on November 18. Voting deadline is October 30th.

    Yuki Hasegawa, a staff member of the museum who planned the contest, said, “We used to hold a contest called“ Language Proficiency Award ”, but it required specialized knowledge, so we limited the number of participants. With that in mind, we planned to hold an event where as many people as possible could participate. "

    The building was renovated in October last year and has a new open lounge and open terrace where you can bring drinks. Before the renovation, the use in the closed shelves was also limited to those on campus, but after the renovation, it became available to the general public. “If you want people outside the university to read the books in the museum, you can use this kind of event,” says Hasegawa.

    Opening hours are 9:00 to 22:00.
