A curry shop "Curry Parlor Kifujin" (2 Nagashima, Aomori City) opened on December 12 near Hirota Shrine.

This store offers weekly curry made with a combination of 8 to 10 spices without using roux. The owner, Ryunosuke Shibata, says, "The point of curry is to use plenty of ingredients such as spices and vegetables and make it carefully."

Mr. Shibata has been making curry as a hobby since college. I was aiming for a civil servant, but I couldn't pass it. Last year, an acquaintance asked him if he wanted to open a curry restaurant franchise in Tokyo. Shibata said, "If I'm going to run a restaurant, I want to use my own recipes."

After about a year and a half of trial and error, I perfected the recipe based on the curry I had originally made. There are currently 5 types of curry bases, and the type of meat and ingredients used are changed. We are working on new recipes to add to the menu.

The store area is about 6 tsubo and the number of seats is 9. The only menu item is the Weekly Curry (large serving = 950 yen, medium serving = 800 yen). The drink menu includes cola, ginger ale (more than 250 yen), beer (500 yen), and glass wine (red and white, more than 400 yen). Alcohol is available for customers who come to the store at night, but Mr. Shibata says, "I want you to come and have a drink even during the day."

Regarding the origin of the store name, Mr. Shibata said, ``I got inspiration from the coffee shop 'Cleopatra' that my friend, who is like an 'older brother', frequents, and named it 'lady.' "Ki" and the fact that there are both men and women who make curry in India, I interpreted it in my own way and wrote "kifujin" in hiragana," he smiles.

A week after the opening, Mr. Shibata said, "I'm glad that the customers are happy. I'm a small shop and I work alone, so depending on the timing, I may not be able to enter, but I would like you to come and eat. ’ he says with a smile. "There are also requests for takeout, so I would like to prepare so that I can meet it in the future."

Business hours are from 11:00 to 14:30 and from 17:00 to 20:00. It will end as soon as the curry runs out. Announce regular holidays on SNS.
