On August 22, the final screening of the "15th National High School Fashion Design Championship" (Fashion Koshien 2015) was held at Hirosaki Civic Center (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki City).

The competition is a fashion design contest among high school students nationwide. This year, there were 3183 entries from 137 schools and 1759 teams from 40 prefectures, and 35 works were selected in the first screening. At the final screening, we will wear costumes created based on the design drawings and judge in the fashion show format.

The winner of this year is "Reflet" designed by Anri Ikeda (3rd year) from Tokyo Women's High School attached to Women's Art University. Ikeda also participated in last year's Fashion Koshien, and the result was a jury special award. “My goal was to win, so I worked hard to revenge for the past year,” he says with a smile. “I want to thank my friends and colleagues for supporting me,” said Ms. Mako Kinoshita, who served as a model.

Jumiko Hara, a judge, said, “The level of evaluation is increasing every year, so the evaluation side is getting tougher.” He also pointed out, “There were few works that used a lot of colors.” The judge judge Yoko Otsuka commented, "There were many works that were highly complete, but there were many that I forgot to see objectively."

This year's 15th anniversary event was held. A special event was given to high schools that participated more than 10 times in the past, and Mr. Otsuka sent an ale to the young contestants, saying, "I want you to play an active part in the fashion industry by taking part in this competition."
