The viewing of rice field art in Inakadate Village in Aomori has started this year.

The theme of this year's rice field art is "Gone with the wind" (= 1st rice field art) and "Star Wars" (= 2nd rice field art). The first rice field art seen from the Inakadate Village Observatory started on June 1st, and the second rice field art at Yayoi no Sato Observatory started on the same day 20th.

The pattern "Gone With the Wind" is a scene in which the famous poster of the movie, Lett Butler, holds Scarlett O'Hara. "Star Wars" depicts "BB-8", "R2-D2" and "C-3PO" that are said to appear in the new "Star Wars: The Force's Awakening" released in December.

"Gone with the Wind" uses 7 colors and 11 types of rice, and "Star Wars" uses 7 colors and 7 types of rice. It is said to be in full bloom from mid-July, but since it turns golden in autumn, there are some ways to enjoy it.

Opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00 (last admission 16:30). From July 1st to August 31st, from 8:30 to 18:00 (last admission 17:30). The fee is 200 yen for adults (junior high school students and above), 100 yen for children (elementary school students), and preschoolers are free at each venue. The viewing period is until October 12th. Only on October 4, the first rice field art venue will be closed for a rice harvesting experience tour.
