Amazon Japan (Meguro-ku, Tokyo) announced on July 27 that it will expand its delivery bases to 18 locations nationwide, including Hirosaki.

According to the company's operations spokesperson, the new delivery bases "Delivery Stations (DS)" will be installed in 18 locations in 14 prefectures, and will be completed by the end of 2022. In Aomori Prefecture, it opened in Hirosaki in June and in Hachinohe in July. With this expansion, there will be more than 45 DS nationwide.

With the opening of DS, it will be possible to deliver more than 7 million products the next day, and it will also be possible to use the "designated delivery service". With the "Delivery Designated Service", when purchasing, you can avoid face-to-face delivery by specifying a delivery location such as a delivery box or front door.

In addition, by expanding the area where the service can be used, it will increase user convenience and reduce the hassle of redelivery, which will lead to a reduction in CO2 emissions from the exhaust gas of delivery vehicles. Amazon Japan expects to create jobs for more than 5,000 people nationwide in the future with the expansion of DS.
