Actor and entrepreneur Yusuke Iseya took the stage at the opening ceremony of the Hirosaki Sakura Festival on April 23 at Hirosaki Park (Shiragincho, Hirosaki City).

REBIRTH PROJECT, whose president is Mr. Iseya, is engaged in social contribution activities under the theme of "to help humanity survive on the earth." One of the company's projects, the All Japan Uniform Committee, was launched to introduce into society a system that manufactures uniforms from eco-friendly ethical materials and that can be recycled.

Mr. Iseya's platform came from the edge of the “Sakuramori” uniform that manages and protects the cherry trees in the garden. The uniform is designed by Takeo Kikuchi, the creative director of TAKEO KIKUCHI. Kikuchi-san had been making suits in Hirosaki about 30 years ago, so Isetani-san requested him to directly participate in the project.

After the opening ceremony, Mr. Iseya visited the Shoin room (Moto Nagamachi, Hirosaki City) where Mr. Shoin Yoshida, who played in the NHK taiga drama "Hanamoyu," stayed in Hirosaki and had a conversation with Mayor Noriyuki Kasai. "We cannot protect the world by battle in this era. It is necessary to change the world's consumption and production to change the world," he emphasized. Mr. Iseya said, “First of all, the society must move.” Mayor Kasai agreed.

From the afternoon of the same day, in addition to Mr. Isetani and Mr. Kikuchi in Hiroro (Ekimaemachi, Hirosaki City), a talk show was held with Mr. Naotaka Morimoto of the Century Techno Core Hirosaki Plant who was involved in the uniform production of Sakuramori. The audience was filled with 300 people who had applied in advance and listened to the stories of the panelists. Regarding Sakuramori's uniform, “I've never designed a working suit. I want to show a new direction for uniforms, more like a costume than a uniform,” says Kikuchi. Mr. Isetani said, “Fashion is a way of expressing yourself by expressing yourself,” and concluded the talk show.
