On March 29, a president of Shirakami Sake Brewery, Mr. Makoto Nishizawa, sold fire-free sake at a local event held at the beach Nimesiya (Nishimeya Village, Aomori Prefecture).

Shirakami Sake Brewery (Yonegabukuro, Hirosaki City) is a sake brewery located in the southeastern part of the city in the Tomeya district. It is located at the entrance of the Shirakami Mountains, a world natural heritage site, and it is said to have been in business for over 100 years, but it is not clear. President Nishizawa is the fifth generation, counting from his predecessor, Nishizawa Sake Brewery.

The brewery broke out on January 30th this year and burned down about 2000 square meters of the brewery attached to the office. Although no one was injured, the sake brewing restart was difficult in the same place, so I decided to rent a brewery at Rokka Shuzo (Yutaka Mukaize) and start brewing.

President Nishizawa, who appeared for the first time after a fire to about 100 people who gathered at the local exchange event "Shirakami Candle Night in Meiya" on this day, apologized "I apologize for the inconvenience", and after that, Tomeya He revealed that he was working on a "100% locally-produced" sake brewing using only rice from the district, and regretted that it was completed this spring, but he regretted that it was gone due to the fire. I will continue. ”With all my strength, the audience applauded me.

At the venue, President Nishizawa sold about 30 bottles of sake that he said was "fire free." He said, "I had a bottle of sake the day before the fire, and I couldn't help it because I couldn't fit in the refrigerator."
