JR Tsurudomari Station in Kitatsugaru-gun, Aomori Prefecture will become an unmanned station on April 1st.

A single-sided single-sided platform on a single track. The station building was built in 1927 (Showa 2) and was a simple consignment station that only sells tickets (reserved tickets), but on March 31, the station staff will no longer be stationed and ticket sales will end.

Keiko Sato, who has worked at the station for more than 10 years as a consigned station employee, goes to work with his dog Taro at 5:30 in the morning, and leaves the train at 17:41 before returning home. "I can't help it because of the times, but I'm sad that I'll finish working," he said. Ticket sales at the station were decided to end in December last year.

According to Mr. Sato, the number of users has decreased during just 10 years of working. "It's because there are more school pick-ups by passenger cars," he said. The most memorable memory is "Mr. Masahiro Matsuoka of TOKIO has come" and laughs. During the Neputa season, it is said that there were regular customers from Osaka and couples who visited each year every year, and he said, "A high school student who had been seeing off from the station for three years had come to say hello after graduation," and smiles.

A woman in her 20s on the way to shopping with one of the station users said, "There was a flowerpot managed by Mr. Sato at the station, and various flowers bloomed according to the season. What kind of flower is it?" It was exciting because there weren't many at-home stations like this, "he said.
