A half pipe for competition has been completed at Naqua Shirakami Ski Resort (Ajigasawa Town, Aomori Prefecture), which has become a hot topic among borders.

The total length of the half pipe is about 125 meters, the width is about 17 meters, the height is about 6 meters, and the inclination is 16 degrees. Supervised by John Melville, who was a technical advisor for the Olympic half-pipe, he brought in and built a dedicated heavy machine called "Half-pipe shaver global cutter" from overseas.

On February 14th, an event was held to celebrate the completion, and Shuhei Sato and Kohei Kudo, representatives of the Japan Olympics in Vancouver, and Daisuke Murakami, who has the experience of winning the All Japan Championship, etc. skied as guest riders and performed. Mr. Kudo said, "It's amazing that Aomori's half-pipe was built. It's definitely one of the largest in Japan."

Open only on Saturdays and Sundays until March 15. The service is available from the end of maintenance to Saturday = 15:00 and Sunday = 16:00. It is free to use, but a lift ticket must be purchased. Business hours may change depending on the weather and maintenance.
