The "e-Motion Window" is currently being demonstrated on the JR Gono Line "Resort Shirakami".

As Japan's first initiative to install a 55-inch transmissive display on the windows of railroad cars, the weather and tourist information along the railway lines will be posted. Only Resort Shirakami's Aoike train will be installed, and there will be two locations, Car 1 and Car 4 Observation Room.

Resort Shirakami is a sightseeing train that runs between Akita Station and Hirosaki Station / Aomori Station via the Ou Line / Gono Line. There are three formations, "Black Woodpecker", "Aoike", and "Buna", each with a different atmosphere and seats. In addition to being able to see the scenery of the Sea of Japan and apple fields, there will be live performances of the Tsugaru shamisen and Tsugaru dialect demonstrations in the car.

The feature of "e-motion window" is that an organic EL display is sandwiched between the windowpanes of a vehicle, which normally has a double structure, and the display can be superimposed on the scenery of the vehicle window. Sightseeing information is displayed according to the service area, and "in the future, we are thinking of posting information linked to the outside scenery," says Mr. Kami Daichi of the Tourism Promotion Office, Sales Department, JR East Akita Branch.

After installing it on April 2, there were voices from SNS such as "Future Kitter" and "Technology seen in anime when I was a kid." Mr. God says, "Currently, it will be tested until September. We will continue to install it on newly built vehicles in the future, so please pay attention to those who have the opportunity."
