At the Tsugaru Kokeshi Museum (Kuroishi City, Aomori Prefecture), a Christmas fair entitled "Merry Kokeshi Trout!" Is currently being held.

The fair is a collection of Christmas-themed Kokeshi dolls from all over the country that are on display and for sale. According to the museum, kokeshi dolls are divided into 11 strains nationwide, and at the fair, five strains of kokeshi dolls are displayed, including Tsugaru strains, Naruko strains, and Sakunami strains. Kokeshi craftsmen and writers' works such as kokeshi dolls in Santa costumes and kokeshi accessories are displayed.

Ms. Mikiko Ishikawa of the same building said, "The popular kokeshi dolls were sold out immediately." "Because they are handmade one by one, there are not many. People who really want them line up before the store opens." On the first day of the event on December 6, "Kokeshi girls" came all the way from Kanto.

An event called "MeriKoke! Special Workshop days" will be held on December 20th and 21st. Workshops such as the Kokeshi plastic version and the making of walnut buttons and handmade works will be sold. On the 21st, the Tsuki Cafe in the city will open a special store, offering drinks and sweets for Christmas. Kokeshi's Yuru character "Kokeshi Kyoko-chan" also appears.
