The Hirosaki Brick Warehouse Museum (Yoshino-cho, Hirosaki, TEL 0172-32-8950 ) pre-opened on June 1.

The same building was scheduled to open on April 11 after renovating the "Yoshinomachi Brick Warehouse" in Yoshinocho Ryokuchi Park in the center of Hirosaki. In order to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infection, the opening of the building was postponed, but from June 1st, it became a pre-opening with a reservation system for Hirosaki citizens.

Admission started at 9:30 on the first day of the pre-opening, and the number of admissions was limited to 20 every 30 minutes. There were reservations for 151 people on this day, and as measures against the new coronavirus, there was a call for temperature measurement at the time of admission, hand disinfection with rubbing alcohol, and viewing time of about 2 hours.

The opening memorial program "Thank You Memory-From brewing to creation" covers a wide variety of works including video works and three-dimensional works by eight artists, with the exception of two works by Jean-Michel Otoniel, who lives in Paris, France. The work is said to be in a situation where it cannot be transported due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

A woman in her 50s said, “The space inside the building was nice, but there was something unsatisfactory, perhaps because there weren't all the works.” A man in his 20s said, “I had a lot of works with a strong Hirosaki color and it was easy to get interested. I want you to have a grand opening soon.” A man in his 40s says, "From the perspective of making art permeate into Hirosaki, I want you to do your best without being bound by short-term achievements. I look forward to the future."

Currently, 3 paid studios cannot be used, and the library on the 2nd floor is available only to visitors. The adjoining cafe building is open and we are already selling non-alcoholic cider made at the cider workshop inside the building.

Admission is 1,300 yen for adults and 1,000 yen for college and vocational school students. Free for high school students and younger. From June 17, we will start making reservations for residents of Aomori Prefecture. Advance reservations are accepted via the website or by phone.
