Hirosaki Junior Chamber is currently making a mask kit for preschoolers, which is called "Takamaru-kun Mask Project".

The project was launched to distribute the mask kit among the members who gathered with the slogan "Protect local children in the community." Beginning May 21, the mask kit encapsulation work will be started, and about 10,000 copies will be distributed to reach 3,200 preschoolers over the age of 3, such as a nursery school, certified children's school, and kindergarten in Hirosaki City.

Mr. Isao Kikuchi, chairman of the project, said, “I asked a childcare worker that adult masks are starting to become available, but there is still a shortage of masks for children. I called on the whole country from the front and finally ordered the materials and made it happen."

The mask kit is a new moss cloth with a width of 15 cm and a height of 9 cm that can be washed and reused repeatedly, and contains non-woven fabric and elastic cord. The mask will be made in 4 steps such as basting and sewing, and in addition to enclosing the instructions on how to make it, put on the mask of Hirosaki city's mascot character Takamaru-kun who can put it on the mask.

Pay close attention to the enclosing work, and thoroughly disinfect and ventilate the work room. On the first day, the members of the Hirosaki Municipal Gymnasium (Ishikishi Town) used the meeting room to complete the work at night. It will be ready for delivery by May 28.

Mr. Kikuchi says, "I would like to create a system that allows me to collect supplies such as disinfectant solutions and thermometers that are lacking other than masks, and share items, in the future."
