The Chinese restaurant "Moai Shokudo" (Hirosaki City Sakaiseki, TEL 0172-26-6086) opened in Hirosaki on May 8.

Yuki Akimoto and his wife, Ryoko, opened with the goal of becoming a "diner loved by the locals." Opened on the site of "Ramen Kurasaki" which closed in October last year. The store area is about 20 tsubo and the number of seats is 26. Counter seats and small raised spaces were renovated to create table seats.

Yuki has worked as a part-time job since high school in “Chinese cuisine Minpai” (Yawata Town) and has been enrolled for over 10 years. He began to adore his chefs and eventually wanted to have his own restaurant. On the other hand, when I was 19 years old, I was impressed by the bicycle tourists who traveled along the road along the sea, and became a lover of traveling to challenge the traverse of Hokkaido, the west coast of the United States, and the Japanese archipelago.

Ryoko became interested in waiting on customers after working part-time at a restaurant, and experienced various industries such as cafes, taverns and bento shops. "I like to interact with customers," he said.

The reason they met each other was because Yuki-san visited the cafe where Ryoko-san worked every Monday and called her "Monday's brother." Introduced by a common acquaintance, "Yeah, I laughed unintentionally as a brother on Monday," said Ryoko. Yuki recalls, "Minpai was closed on Mondays."

The two decided to hit each other and make a plan around the world, but "I felt that it wasn't the time when the situation was unstable in the Middle East," Yuki said. The two were married and Ryoko gave birth, so the world tour is on hold.

I thought about naming the land I would like to go on a trip to the world, and there were proposals such as "Aurora Dining" and "Easter Dining". Yuki says, "We suddenly proposed "Moai Shokudo" and it was decided immediately." Ryoko smiles, saying "I felt good at speaking."

The menu focuses on Chinese food such as "This week's Moai set meal" (900 yen and up), Eulynch set meal (900 yen), Marbo tofu set meal (900 yen), and stir-fried meat and vegetables set meal (900 yen). Pork soup is included in the set meal. “I want you to be full and full,” says Yuki. There are also spring rolls (2 pieces = 300 yen) and rice (200 yen) as a single item menu, but now it is said that the menu is narrowed down.

Yuki says, "We opened at a difficult time, but we want to continue for a long time like a restaurant in the area I like." It is also said that "I will leave the world for a while".

The current business hours are from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. Only take-out is available at night.
