The branches of cherry trees that had been pruned were distributed free of charge at Hirosaki Park (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki City) on February 28th, March 7th, 14th, 20th and 28th for 5 days.

There is a long line every year at the branch distribution time starting at 8:30. This year as well, about 890 people gathered for pruned branches for a total of 5 days.

The branch of cherry blossoms is distributed every year by the Green Counseling Center in the park as "Splitting of cherry pruned branches". These branches are carefully cut down from each of the 2600 cherry trees in the garden. Since the buds will bloom when they are placed in water, the citizens have asked for the pruned branches to be handed over, so the "hemi" division has started.

The cherry blossoms in the park are "Hirosaki Sakura Festival", so they are pruned every year from late February. It is misunderstood that cherry blossoms should not be pruned, as the saying “cherry-cutting idiot, Umekiri-ranuba-baka” is said, but it is said that cherry blossoms will grow larger when managed.

The pruning of the garden is a unique management method called the Hirosaki method. The apple pruning technology is applied, and this technology extends the life of the cherry trees, which is said to be about 60 years, and there are about 300 cherry trees that are over 100 years old.

This year's Hirosaki Sakura Festival will be held from April 23 to May 6. The standard tree in the park is expected to bloom on April 23. Full bloom is expected on the 28th. During the period, light up will be done until 22:00.
