On November 1, Hagiwara Milk Industry (Okubo, Hirosaki, TEL 0172-32-1451) changed the container for "100% raw milk Aoimori yogurt" to paper.

The company, founded in 1952, manufactures and sells dairy products mainly in Hirosaki in the Tsugaru region. "100% Aoimori Yogurt with Raw Milk" is a yogurt that uses milk produced in Aomori Prefecture and does not use additives such as stabilizers. In 2012 (Heisei 24), the manufacturing method up to the previous time was reviewed and renewed. The package was changed once in 2016, and this is the second change.

According to the company's president, Chikako Hagiwara, the problem of marine plastic trash is in the background. "Although it may be a small thing that a local manufacturer does, we changed it so that society could change even a little," says Hagiwara. "At the time of the first change, it was successful that the factory lane had specifications that allowed the current type to pass through," he said.

The container was made of paper after the renewal, but the content did not change and the manufacturing method remained unchanged at 400 ml. Mr. Hagiwara said, "I kept the design that emphasized "100% milk" without changing the color and adjusted the color many times. I also paid close attention to the shipping and sometimes carried it to a distance in Akita or the Kanto area and confirmed it."

Half a month has passed since the change was made, and there were voices saying "I was cute" and "I didn't notice it was made of paper." Mr. Hagiwara says, "Not only do you enjoy the delicious taste, but it also gives you an opportunity to be interested in sorting garbage."

Open price. It is sold at supermarkets and drug stores in Aomori Prefecture.
