On November 28, Yukihiro Sekiyama, who is a former trumpet player of the NHK Symphony Orchestra from Hirosaki City, will co-star with his eldest son and oboe player Genki Mori Mori at the Hirosaki Cultural Center (Shirogincho, Hirosaki City). This is the second parent and child concert in Hirosaki since December last year.

Mr. Sekiyama was born in Hirosaki City and graduated from Musashino College of Music. In 1982 (Showa 57), he studied abroad at Northwestern University in the United States as an overseas artist trainee for the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and joined the orchestra in 1984 (59). Later he became the principal trumpet player and continues to the present day.

The eldest son, Morigen, was born in 1988 (63). He started playing oboe at the age of 14 and participated in a concert tour of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Japan and Hungary in 2009. Also active as an arranger. Fumiko Kudo, who is a pianist from Musashino College of Music, will also perform at this concert. In addition, many local performers make friendship appearances.

“The combination of trumpet and oboe is rare. Therefore, many of the songs in the program are arranged by my son, and the concert has a strong original color,” says Mr. Sekiyama. "I want people to enjoy the ensemble with the musicians who are active in Hirosaki."

“I'm more relaxed than last year at my second concert,” says Kudo, a piano player. I'm very honored to be on the same stage as Mr. Sekiyama, who has long been active on the global stage, as a pianist. Showed enthusiasm.
