Aomori's beautiful traditional crafts Old wisdom is a popular item
Kogin sashimi is a traditional handicraft handed down in the Tsugaru region of Aomori. A "kogin" is a farmer's workwear that was born about 200 years ago. "Sashimi" is one of the techniques, and means to embroider and sew geometrical patterns such as threads on fabric.
In the cold Aomori prefecture around the 1800s, it was difficult to grow cotton, so I wore clothes made of linen cloth. However, it was difficult to overcome the cold season of Aomori with this, and Koginashi was considered. Since linen alone is thin, a cotton thread is inserted between them to thicken it and increase the heat retention effect. When there were no materials, only white cotton threads were used, but nowadays, various colors and designs are increasing, and they are used as fashionable items.
A fashionable item created with the wisdom to protect yourself.
