On September 3rd, "Isao Kojima Exhibition-A man called a modern Ukiyo-e artist" was held at Iwagiyama Shrine (Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture).

The exhibition features 30 original drawings and 30 Giclee prints by manga artist Isao Kojima. It will be the 11th time to visit shrines nationwide. Held for the first time in Aomori. It will be held last year.

"We decided to hold it at a shrine, which is a community of local people," because Takeo Ogawa, the president of Koo Pro (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo), sponsors the event.

Mr. Kojima was born in 1928 and died in 2015. He is known for drawing an illustration of female kappa, the mascot character of the sake brewer "Yakuza". Political manga has been serialized in the Asahi Shimbun, and his representative work is "Beard and Boyne."

Among the original paintings are the cover art of "Weekly Manga Sunday" drawn in the 1940s and female kappa, as well as beauty drawings with Hirosaki Castle in the background.

President Ogawa said, "People who look back on their memories of being embarrassed when they watch TV commercials with their families, and people who go to every day during the period were also present in past traveling exhibitions. Because many of Kojima's works are rare occasions I want you to come."

Holding time is from 10:00 to 17:00. free entrance. Until September 16th.
