Hirosaki Neputa Festival started on August 1st.

A festival of nationally designated important intangible folk cultural properties, where groups centered around town associations and volunteers pull a fan-shaped float around the center of the city to travel around Hirosaki city center. A total of 76 groups participated this year, and 36 on the first day.
