A movie screening event "Kuroishi Kinema" will be held on July 3rd and 6th using an empty warehouse on the 1st floor of the former Sutzen Building in Kuroishi, Aomori (Yokomachi, Kuroishi).

This project utilizes an empty building on Nakamachi Komise Dori, where the arcade from the feudal era remains. Using a micro theater platform "popcorn" that creates a simple movie theater using stores, 3 movies will be shown in 2 days.

The screenings were released in 2008 and featured a road movie starring Yu Aoi, "Million Yen and Bitter Girl" (screened at 18:00 on March 3) and a suspense "Charade" (starred at Audrey Hepburn) at 15:00 on 6th, 2010. Youth comedy "Simple Simon" released in Sweden on June 6th (6pm).

The founder, Satomi Aizawa, moved to Tokyo after graduating from high school when she entered a film college. He was involved in screenplays and music video production in Tokyo, and returned to Kuroishi in 2017. “In Tokyo, I became a member of the mini theater as an annual member, so I often visited movie theaters. I wanted to realize the excitement in the local world where the unique world of movies would expand,” said Aizawa.

According to Mr. Aizawa, there used to be 6 movie theaters in Kuroishi. "When I was a kid, there were screenings of two delayed movies at places such as the Cultural Center and public halls, but now that's all gone," he said.

The project was started by cleaning the building where the shutter was still shuttered, with the support of the NPO Yokomachi Jumonji Machisodate Renovation Subcommittee in favor of Mr. Aizawa. “We haven't decided how it will be reproduced in the future. We want to make it a place where people gather in Kuroishi,” says Aizawa.

You can bring your own food and drinks at the venue on the day. "Kun mill topaz" "In lak'ech" "SHE/SHOCK/CHEESE" "PINO Coffee Roaster" "Bakery to itoi" "Five grain fermented rice ball" All 6 stores of "An" have opened. Store openings differ depending on the screening date.

Mr. Aizawa said, “The movie theater is a special place that is not just about watching something on the DVD or online at home, but just to see the world of the movie. You can share your thoughts about the movie after watching it. Is also attractive. Let's enjoy the movie together".

The admission fee is 1,500 yen for one work (replacement system, with one drink). Tickets will be sold at "popcorn" and on-day tickets will also be sold.
