Railroad enthusiasts carried out cleaning activities for the "Former Tokyu 6000 Series" and "Former Tokyu 7000 Series" owned by Konan Railway (Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture) from September 5th for four days.

In this activity, railroad enthusiasts living in the Kanto area centering on Tokyo voluntarily gather to clean the cars. We go every year and this is the 8th year. In many years, more than 70 people gathered, but this year, about 30 enthusiasts gathered.

The 6000 series is a rare vehicle with only 20 manufactured. It is a 2-axis drive specification with "1 trolley and 1 motor", and its unique running sound makes it popular with enthusiasts. The company owns four of them. According to Yasuhiro Watanabe of the official event supporter, Umikaze Kobo, "This is the only place that has left the figure of the train, so-called body and running equipment, as it was at that time."

This activity was triggered by the removal of the 6000 series from the operation of the Owani Line Rapid Train in 2006. When I first came to the proposal, the company gave me a nasty look. “We have managed to understand the activities and are finally able to realize them every year,” says Watanabe. Most of the members just wash the cars and return to the hotel, and they do not even go sightseeing in Hirosaki. "There are many participants who do not know the active age of the 6000 series, but I like it so much."
