At present, there are many Hatsune Miku fans visiting in Hirosaki city for the purpose of "Sakura Miku" at the time of the Sakura Festival.

Hatsune Miku is a female virtual idol who is very popular in Japan and overseas. "Sakura Miku" is a cherry blossom-themed character derived from Hatsune Miku, and was appointed as the official support character for the Hirosaki Sakura Festival until 2020. Sapporo has a derived character called "Snow Miku" as a character that supports Hokkaido in winter, and this year marks the 10th anniversary of its birth.

In Hirosaki City, we installed a large signboard in front of the central entrance and exit of Hirosaki Station in the downtown area of Dotemachi-dori, and at the venue Hirosaki Park, we installed 6 welcome panels during the Sakura Festival. On March 29, the Hirosaki Tourism and Convention Association announced its first effort to allow cosplay in the park.

On April 20, the first day of the Hirosaki Sakura Festival, many fans gathered in Hirosaki in search of Sakura Miku's limited goods that were pre-sold at dealers in Hirosaki city. At the Hirosaki City Tourist Museum (Shimoginmachi, Hirosaki City), there was a line of about 30 people before the opening of the museum at 8 o'clock, and there were also fans who purchased 60,000 yen.

Hatsune Miku fans often wear turquoise goods called "Miku Green", and the social interaction between fans is mainly on SNS. According to one of the fans, they will go to the venue for events held in various places and talk to each other when they find a friend. "Some fans go to overseas events," he said.

A fan man in his 30s from Saitama said, "I often don't even know what my (other fans) are doing, even my real name. I enjoy taking pictures of landscapes and figures, depending on the person. I climbed for the summit of Mt. Iwaki during my three-day stay, but gave up on the way."

A fan man in his 20s who came from Himeji to purchase limited goods said, "I can feel that there are flags and signs of Sakura Miku in front of the station and in the shopping district, and we are holding events throughout the town. Sakura Miku is on the cover. I wanted a public relations magazine, but I was able to get a "give up" from the person at the counter, and I was able to experience the kindness of the local people. I would love to come again next year," he says with a smile.

The Hirosaki Tourism and Convention Association holds a stamp rally around the city's six locations during the festival. You can get the original postcards by stamping 4 of the 6 stamps, but fans have to go to all 6 places to get all 6 stamps (end when the postcards run out).

A man in his 30s from Osaka stayed from 19th to 23rd the day before the opening day. "From the first day, I got along with the locals and had them drive me to the apple park in the suburbs, where the stamps are located." "After that, I had a relationship like going to a delicious ramen shop and drinking at night. I have to thank you if you come to Osaka," he said.

According to the Hirosaki Convention & Visitors Bureau, 1660 people exchanged postcards for two days on the 20th and 21st.

Hatsune Miku Self-proclaimed a fan, and a private izakaya “Mikuunike” (formerly Daikomachi), the owner of the pub, said, “There were some people from Taiwan. Mr. Miku brought me in.” Although their acting power is amazing, I re-recognized the charm of the character Hatsune Miku.”
