Inakadate Village, Aomori Prefecture announced the theme of rice field art for 2019 on April 18.

This year's theme is from the 1st rice field art venue, NHK's serial TV novel "Oshin" that was broadcast in 1983, and the 2nd rice field art venue from the program "Mother and Together" for children celebrating its 60th anniversary. It became "Garapikopu".

This is the 27th rice field art in the village. In the past, in addition to feature films such as the movie "Shin Godzilla" and "Star Wars: The Force's Awakening," last year's theme was "Tezuka Osamu Character," "Sazae-san," and "Ultraman." is there. This is the second time since the theme from NHK was taken up in the taiga drama "Sanada Maru" in 2016.

The first rice field art venue where "Oshin" is drawn is divided into two sides across the road, and the area is about 15,000 square meters. In the left part of the story, a seven-year-old shin, who is said to be the most memorable scene in the play, leaves his parents for service and goes down the river. The parents of Oshin, played by Shiro Ito and Pinko Izumi, are drawn on the right, and the varieties of rice that have been drawn every year are removed only in the lower right this time, and a large design is planned.

The theme of the second rice field art venue, "Garapikopu", is a stuffed doll play that started in 2016 and continues to be broadcast today. From the left, draw a skipper, choromy, curio, garapico, petit margo, and mumu in a rice field venue that is 150 meters wide and 70 meters high.

Mayor Takao Suzuki of the same village who made the announcement said, "Oshin has been mentioned as a theme proposal in the past. It is a popular drama in Southeast Asia, and it aims at inbound guests as well." "This year's target for the number of visitors that has been declining since 2016 and remains flat is 300,000," he said.

The first rice field art venue will have a rice planting experience on May 26, and will be opened from the next day. The second venue is said to be planting rice for the opening from June 15. It will be open until October 6th, and the admission fee will be the same as last year. Adults (junior high school students and above) = 300 yen, children = 100 yen (preschoolers free). From September 30, only the first venue will be free.
