A signboard of the official support character "Sakura Miku" for the Hirosaki Sakura Festival was set up in front of the central entrance of JR Hirosaki Station on March 29.

It is said that 2 million tourists visit the Hirosaki Sakura Festival every year from April 20 in Hirosaki Park (Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture), and about 2600 cherry trees in 52 types bloom, making it one of the most famous cherry blossoms in Japan. Also known as

"Sakura Miku" is a character derived from "Hatsune Miku", a female virtual idol that supports the voice synthesis system "VOCALOID" released by Krypton Future Media (Sapporo, Hokkaido). Inaugurated as an official support character for the festival for two years.

The signboard installed at the station entrance is about 1.8 meters long and 3.6 meters wide. The main visual drawn by illustrator iXima is arranged on the left, and on the right is an outline of the 100th anniversary of 2020, which says "To the 100th Hirosaki Sakura Festival". The signboard will be installed until the end of the 2020 Sakura Festival.

This main visual will be used on the cover of Hirosaki City's public relations magazine "Public Relations Hirosaki," which will be distributed from April 1.
