Aomori Owani Onsen Ryokan “Hoshino Resorts Kai Tsugaru” (TEL 0570-073-011 in Minami Tsugaru-gun, Aomori Prefecture) will be reopened on April 1.

One of the hot spring inn brands that Hoshino Resorts (Kitasaku-gun, Nagano Prefecture) has 15 facilities nationwide with the concept of "being a royal road but new." Opened in 2011. In March 2015, we newly established a local room called Tsugaru Koginma, which incorporates shoji and hanging scrolls with a contemporary design of Tsugaru Kogin sashimi.

Tsugaru kogin sashimi is a traditional embroidery method in the Tsugaru region that was born as part of strengthening work clothes and as a measure to protect against the cold, but in recent years, it has attracted attention as a fashion item for sundries and accessories. The renovation was produced by Kogin designer, Masamasa Yamabata, who is from Aomori and lives in Tokyo.

With this renovation, 34 new Japanese-style rooms have been added, and all 41 rooms have become "Tsugaru Koginma". The artwork "Kogin Wall" to decorate the wall, shoji, and the Andon at the entrance have different patterns of Tsugaru Kogin sashimi. Place tea etc. indoors.

Kumiko Tachikawa, the general manager, cites three points in the renewal: "Focus on Tsugaru culture," "Proposals for staying in the four seasons," and "Adults can be satisfied." The service "Gojigaku", where you can enjoy the local culture free of charge, will offer a hands-on kit that allows you to listen to live Tsugaru shamisen and make Tsugaru kogin sashimi on a paper bookmark.

It is said that the "Tsugaru Shiki Water Garden," which you can see from the lobby, has a seasonal appearance. In the spring, a Tsugaru Kanayama ware circular lamp with a cherry blossom pattern will be installed, and in the summer, about 150 lights made with the Tsugaru Biidoro will be installed to give the summer festival a realistic feel. In the fall, you can enjoy various apples in the Tsugaru-nuri original confectionery box in the water garden, and in the winter drain the pond to make kamakura or "kogintorou".

Prices start from 22,000 yen per night with 2 meals (1 person charge when using 2 people in 1 room).
